Nostos ("the app") is a recreational sailing-trip planner and navigation aid. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

Data we collect

• Location (precise & approximate): to show your position, live navigation (heading, speed), and compute distances/ETAs. Essential for the app to function.
• Account information (optional): if you sign in with Google or email/password, we receive your email address, display name and profile photo URL via Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). Sign-in is optional and only used to save and sync your trips.
• Your trips: waypoints, dates, notes and boat/captain profile you create — stored on your device and, if signed in, in your private area of Cloud Firestore (Google).

How we use data

• To provide maps, routes, weather, depth information and navigation.
• To save and sync your trips (only if signed in).
• We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your data.

Third-party services

Firebase (Google) — authentication and cloud storage. OpenStreetMap / CARTO / OpenSeaMap — map tiles. EMODnet Bathymetry — depth estimates. Open-Meteo — weather. boataround.com — opened externally for boat-rental links.

Depth information from open data is an estimate, not an official survey, and must not be relied on as the sole source for navigation or anchoring.

Data retention & deletion

Trips stay until you delete them. To delete your account data, contact us at the email above and we will remove your users/{your-id} data.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS / Firebase).

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Nostos — Πολιτική Απορρήτου

Το Nostos είναι εργαλείο σχεδιασμού και πλοήγησης ιστιοπλοϊκών ταξιδιών αναψυχής.

Δεδομένα που συλλέγουμε

• Τοποθεσία: για θέση στον χάρτη, ζωντανή πλοήγηση, αποστάσεις/χρόνους. Απαραίτητη.
• Λογαριασμός (προαιρετικά): email, όνομα, φωτογραφία μέσω Firebase Authentication, μόνο για αποθήκευση/συγχρονισμό ταξιδιών.
• Ταξίδια: σημεία, ημερομηνίες, προφίλ — στη συσκευή και (αν συνδεθείς) στον ιδιωτικό σου χώρο στο Firestore.

Χρήση

Χάρτες, διαδρομές, καιρός, βάθη, πλοήγηση. Δεν χρησιμοποιούμε δεδομένα για διαφημίσεις και δεν τα πουλάμε.

Τρίτοι

Firebase (Google), OpenStreetMap/CARTO/OpenSeaMap, EMODnet, Open-Meteo, boataround.com. Τα βάθη είναι εκτίμηση, όχι επίσημη βυθομέτρηση.
